Pochade is developed by John Fowler ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Pochade app.
Pochade is a painting reference tool. All image editing, value studies, cropping, and grid overlays happen entirely on your device. Your reference photos and session data are stored locally and are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service. The app cannot browse your full photo library.
We do not collect your name, email, or contact information. We do not require accounts or login. We do not access, upload, or share your images. We do not sell data to third parties, and we do not display ads or track you across apps.
We use TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Augsburg, Germany) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics and crash diagnostics. This helps us understand how the app is used, fix bugs, and prioritize improvements.
TelemetryDeck anonymizes all identifiers on your device before transmission using a double-hashing technique. Neither we nor TelemetryDeck can trace any signal back to an individual user. No cookies are used, and no data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Anonymized data collected may include an untraceable device identifier (hashed on-device), app usage events, device type, OS version, app version, and crash reports.

We occasionally advertise Pochade through Apple Ads (ads shown in the App Store). To measure whether those campaigns work, the app asks Apple's privacy-preserving AdServices framework — once, shortly after installation — whether your download came from one of our Apple Ads campaigns.
Apple's response contains only campaign-level information, such as campaign, ad group, ad, and keyword identifiers, the country or region of the App Store storefront, and where the ad was shown. It contains no personal information and nothing that identifies you or your device. This result is stored on your device and attached to the anonymized TelemetryDeck analytics events described above (for example, alongside purchase events) so we can tell in aggregate which campaigns lead people to the app.
Pochade does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, does not use Apple's tracking-gated "detailed" attribution data, and does not track you across other apps or websites. You can learn more in Apple's Apple Advertising & Privacy disclosure.
Pochade offers an in-app purchase processed through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information — all transactions are handled by Apple under their privacy policy.
Since Pochade does not collect personal information, the rights typically granted under privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA are largely not applicable. The anonymized analytics collected by TelemetryDeck cannot be linked back to you. You can delete the app or individual sessions at any time to remove all local data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
